U.S. Air Force Civilian Guardsmen and Security Forces personnel assigned to the 35th Security Forces Squadron carried out a range of defensive operations at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 4–5, 2025. Daily duties included identification verification at the installation’s entry control points, weapons clearing and turn-in at the armory, vehicle patrols, and mid-shift training exercises focused on threat detection and tactical response.

These activities ensure that the 35th Fighter Wing maintains a ready and responsive defensive posture to protect Airmen, families, and mission-critical infrastructure. Civilian Guardsmen, as integral members of the base defense team, help enforce layered security measures and support the continuous protection of the installation against unauthorized access and potential threats.

Such operations directly support the 35th Fighter Wing’s commitment to integrated deterrence and mission readiness across the Indo-Pacific.
