HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The latest episode of Team Hanscom Today highlights activities and achievements shaping the base community.
Hanscom AFB Chaplain Gary Davidson, a native of Needham, Massachusetts, guest-hosted the episode.
“At the Chapel, we have Easter and Passover events coming up,” said Davidson. “Be sure to check out our website for more information.”
The episode also highlighted recent readiness training as members of the 66th Security Forces Squadron and Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass., completed a combative course with over 40 hours of instruction. The course, part of the Air Force’s Ready Airman Training initiative, focused on self-defense techniques, conditioning, and response to potential altercations.
“Thank you, Defenders, for helping us achieve peace through strength,” said Davidson.
In a field segment, 2nd Lt. Ashley Vazquez, HansCOMICON lead project officer, shared details about the event scheduled April 4 at the Minuteman Commons from 3 to 8 p.m.
“The 66th Force Support Squadron and partners are thrilled to celebrate another year of fandom, fun, and community,” said Vazquez.
The event will feature popular attractions, including a vendor hall, a retro pinball arcade, and Air Force Gaming competitions. The AFG production team, traveling from San Antonio, Texas, will host two main tournaments: Super Smash Bros. and Call of Duty.
“We are so excited to bring this event back to the base and hope everyone will join us,” said Vazquez.
The episode also recognized the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s 12th annual Logistics Functional Awards, where two Team Hanscom individuals earned honors. The program highlights the achievements of logistics professionals in sustaining Air Force lethality.
Finally, Davidson congratulated three Hanscom AFB Airmen selected for Officer Training School, an eight-week program designed to develop future Air Force leaders. The course focuses on military skills, leadership development, and Air Force culture.
“Congratulations to each of the selectees — you earned it,” Davidson said.
