Memorial Day is a national day of REMEMBRANCE of those who made the ultimate sacrifice of giving their lives during military service in the United States Armed Forces.
Memorial Day originated in the years following the Civil War. It was originally known as Decoration Day, a day in which the graves of our veteran’s graves were decorated in remembrance of their sacrifice.
In 1971 Memorial Day became an official national holiday as a day of remembrance on the 4th Monday of May.
This Memorial Day, take a moment to remember “Our Fallen Warriors.”
